How We StartedJCR Info

"JCR" stands for "Junior Common Room", a term which is used to describe both the undergraduate body of students at LMH and their common room (located in the Toynbee building).

The JCR body is made up of over 400 undergraduates, all of whom have the right to attend JCR meetings and vote in elections for the "Exec" (the student committee which governs the JCR). According to the constitution, the Exec is made up of thirteen officials, each with a different role to play in ensuring the academic, social, financial and emotional well-being of the undergraudates. The elected JCR President has overall charge of the Exec.

JCR meetings are held once every fortnight during term-time. Any member can propose a motion to be discussed in a meeting, which may then be voted for by those present and put into action. More information about the JCR can be found on this site, or by e-mailing the webmaster.
